Is anyone here familiar with this AF career? What is an “average” day like? Is this a career that translates well into a post-military career? Bases you can be stationed at? Anyone with this career get sent to Iraq?
thanks.

I take it HVAC for a Civil Engineer Squadron? I’m actually a plumber (Utilities) in the Air Force. We work close with the HVAC guys. I couldn’t tell you exactly about their job, but usually CE squadrons have typical work weeks. Work 5 days a week, off weekends. They get calls that come in for buildings around base and they go out and fix the problems. Simple as that. I don’t know if you need a license for HVAC on the outside, but I know for my job you do. Mine isn’t transferable though. If I wanted to be a plumber on the outside, i’d need to get the training all over again. You can be stationed pretty much anywhere in the US and overseas. And yes, they do send CE to Iraq.
