Servicing window type air conditioning units with sealed systems? I work in the Philippines where most of the window type air conditioning systems have no ports for adding refrigerant. There is supposedly a pinch connector you can use to puncture the line for servicing. The pinch remains in the line permanently. Where can I find more information on this adapter or pinch for servicing or recovering sealed A/C systems?
Do car air conditioning systems run on gas or the car battery? Sorry for any spelling mistakes, but do you guys know? Technician A says that an air conditioning system is designed to operate at its rated capacity and efficiency at one set of design conditions. Technician B says that an air conditioning system is designed to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute standards. Which of the following statements is correct? A. Only Technician A is correct. B. Only Technician B is correct. C. Both technicians are correct. D. Neither technician is correct.
Sizing air conditioning systems? I am trying to find the easiest way to size an air-conditioning system for a steel shed that is 64' long, 57.5' wide, and 12' tall. The roof has r-11 insulation and there are 6 2'X2' windows. I need to keep it between 77 and 90 degrees F. I am looking for a simple calc but all i can find at this point requires to many variables that I don't understand. PLEASE HELP!!! AHHHHH! Thanks A lot
best air conditioning system for this house? The house has a steam heating system, would that make installing central air conditioning pretty much out of the question? Are there other types of AC systems which might be better for this house?
I need to modify my air conditioning system. I have a three story Townhome. The first floor has its own AC un? I need to modify my air conditioning system. I have a three story Townhome. The first floor has its own AC unit. The second and third floor are supplied by a larger AC unit. However, the third floor is a large room (essentially a converted attic) which serves as the guest room and usually empty and not worth cooling down. There is a small air intake and three registers on the third floor. There is a large air intake and 6 registers on the second floor. 1- Can I just shut of the air intake and registers on the third floor? 2- If option 1 overloads the system can I build a bypass air intake to the second floor and add a few extra registers? Using a switch to control whether or not I use the bypass? The idea being I can cool the second floor more efficiently?
What make has the best air-conditioning system? I wanna get a car with an air-conditioning system that really works, I mean real cooling without draining too much engine power. Any recommendations? Must be among makes available worldwide, such as GM, Volkswagen, FIAT, etc.
WIll having my air conditioning system blowing on me overnight worsen my acne? I take pills and cream given by my doctor which are meant to dry out the skin. I have an air conditioning system (that i put water and ice cubes in) which blows out cool air and puts moisture into the air. I do this as i get so hot in the middle of the night. However, will doing this prevent my acne from clearing up as the moisture will stop the skin drying out?
How much does an air conditioning system cost for a condo flat? Hi all - I'm looking at buying a foreclosed condo and it looks like the previous owner has taken the outside air conditioning unit. I'm wondering how much these typically cost. The condo is on the second floor and is 1100 sf. All the of the ducts and vents are still in place, it just looks like the owner was upset after foreclosing and stole the unit in retaliation. Thanks in advance for your help, CF
Building a house: What air conditioning system goes in? How do you calculate air conditioning tonage for a 2 story house? For example, how do I know if I need 3 tons for the top floor and 4 tons for the bottom floor? How do I determine this? The bottom floor is 1500 sq ft and the top is 1500 sq st.
2001 Taurus Air Conditioning system leaking oil? I just had my 2001 Ford Taurus in the shop yesterday to service the air conditioning system. Diagnostics revealed that I needed the leaky accumulator (hose?) assembly replaced. The good news is that it blows very cold air now. Bad news is I've noticed a leak near the area where the work was done. (the smaller tube assembly underneath the larger running the length of the engine compartment). The leak is light brown and slightly oily. It's leaving spots in the driveway. Could this leak also be from the AC system? Does the AC system for the Taurus have oil?
Which type of freon we are using in refrigerator and air conditioning system? Presently we are using environment friendly freon, when you are refilling freon in a compressor, pl ensure that old types are not getting filled in the systems manufactured after 2002, because old freons will damage working of your system. Although refilling couplers are different, pl take care while filling somewhere other than service station.
the difference between air conditioning and air conditioner? Could you please tell me the difference between air conditioning and air conditioner? I knew that we can say that "this car comes with an air conditioning" . How about the following sentence: Does your apartment has an air conditioning /conditioner? Does this building has an central air conditioning system?
What is the reason for a slow or stopped central air conditioning outside cooling fan with a loss of cold air? The recent problem seems to be related to the outdoor cooling fan. The air conditioning system seems to be working properly, but there is a loss of cooling of the air coming from the indoor air conditioning vents. I inspected the outside unit, and yesterday the cooling fan was stopped with a humming/grinding sound. The capacitor looked good (no bulging), but I'm not an electrician and I have no way (or the knowledge) to test voltages and amperages and such. Anyway, I blew on some dust/dirt/cobwebs around some of the wires, and started the system back on and the fan moved at normal speed and the system worked and cooler air came out. However, today, the indoor temperature wasn't maintained and I went outside and the cooling fan was running much slower (but it was running). After I turned off the system, I felt the metal cover of the outside unit, and it was very hot, and it seemed that the source of the heat came from directly above the cooling fan motor. Please contact me!
what type of air conditioning system is this? I live in an old skyrise building where the air and heat are centrally controlled in the building. I have a rectangular box sitting in my condo that controls the air flow but not the temperature. So basically, I can cut the AC or heat off and on, which ever is running at th time in the whole building. What is this type of cooling/heating system called? And what is the name of the box sitting in my unit, because I want to replace it?
How Do I Add Central Air Conditioning to A 100 Years Old House? My house is 100 years old and has forced hot air heat. The gas furnace is a 90% efficiency and 5 years old. I have a 7 years old central air condition system that is used but in very good shape. Does anyone know if I can somehow combine the two. I am very cost conscious, so I would like to do it myself. Please off any and all suggestions. Thank you
How hard is it to replace an air conditioning system? A while ago, I got in a minor accident that ended up puncturing my condenser and damaging other parts of my air con system. I have a friend who was able to get me all the replacement parts from a junkyard for really cheap, but I never had the motivation (or was never brave enough) to get out the tools and start messing around with my car. I recently looked into getting it repaired for me, but I'm not exactly excited about the $300 repair cost. I wish I could put this off longer, but I am spending this summer in North Carolina and I have a feeling it might get a little warm! I drive a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee (4.0 L Straight 6).
where is the low pressure cycling switch for the air conditioning system on a 99 cadillac deville concours? Im trying to recharge the r-134a refrigerant in my caddy. You have to have the air compressor running to recharge the system. When the r-134a is low, the air compressor has a safety switch that switches off so that you don't burn up the compressor. The haynes manual i have says you have to find the low pressure cycling switch and attach a jumper wire to start the compressor. I need to know where that switch is. Thanx Geniuses!
Air Conditioning system on Chevy Silverado? I went to add some 134a to my air conditioning system on my 2004 Chrevrolet Silverado and could not find a quick disconnect port on the low side, however there are two on the high side. Is there a port for the low side that I am not seeing or can it only be charged from the high side? Was this intentionally designed to prevent owner maintenance of the A/C system?
