Help - I need A/C heating expert to answer a question re: furnance replacement?
Have central air and natural gas furnace - need to get rid of furnace and replace with electric.. what are my choices and which is most efficient?I don't know what the choices are - and if I did - I am not sure I would know the difference.... any A/C & heating Experts out there?

- i prefer trane, 13 seer or higher....when getting bids ask for those 2 items and u'll do ok. if planning to stay in the house a long time, 5 yrs or more, bump up to a 14 or15 seer.....cost more but pays off in the long run. lic. gen. contractor
- If you have gas I think you are making a mistake replacing with electric central heat. Your operating cost for a central electric furnace WILL definitely be greater than gas cost. Heating a house with electricity is cost effecient when you use individually controlled baseboard units - not a central system.
- If you are just going t replace the furnace go with a janitrol if replacing both a/c and furnace go with janitrol by goodman. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T BUY A TRANE OR LENNOX.
