Do some forced hot air heating systems have a permanent filter rather than one requiring periodic replacement?

If so, what maintenance, if any, do these require?

  1. Some do, they just need to be rinsed and cleaned on a regular basis, you can also buy permanent furnace filters and electrostatic air filters, you can try a web search for permanent furnace filters.
  2. You just clean out the captured dirt and reinstall it. I had one for a while and while it was fairly easy to clean, it restricted the air flow somewhat because it was made of more substantial material than the throw away kind. I set it aside and went back to the throwaways.
  3. They have a filter that needs to be changes so you can filter out the dust in the air....it should be changed every 6 month for good working order... good luck
  4. There used to be a washable type with aluminum fill. It was never good as the one now in the market. Buy the one at about 80 cent a piece. It is worth-ed.
