What makes you want to use a particular heating/air conditioning company?
And what can they do to make sure you continue to use them?

- Price! And reliability. I don't like it when a company charges extra for emergencies or weekend calls. Heck, it's not like we intended to have the unit go on the fritz on the holidays or weekends! :-)
- honesty reliability , quality of service and cost
- the most important is the quality of workmanship and product knowledge. A engineer you can trust, honesty. Customers benefit from company's who carry in stock a large list of spare parts and materials. Availability (any very good heating engineer will be very busy), so if your a customer who is always fair and pays your invoices on time, you will tend to get priority. Value, (Not Price), as a good job is worth a lot more than a bodge. If you have found an engineer who ticks all the above boxes, any customer would be foolish to switch to another.
- When an A/C Technician gives you a quote for an expensive repair, get a second opinion. Unfortunately there are more salespeople than technicians and they give all of us a bad rep. Ask if the techs work on commission or get paid hourly, do not hire commissioned "techs" because if they make a simple repair such as replacing a common part, they don't make much money, all they want to do is sell you a new system. Once you find someone you trust, ask them about a maintenance plan. Normally if you are on a maint plan you will not be charged overtime rates for after hrs, remember we have families too.
