High Velocity Air Conditioning-good Idea Or Bad?

I am looking at a house that has the good old radiators for heat and the current owners use room air conditioners in each bedroom. Someone told me a solution to this would be to install high velocity air conditioning as it does not require massive installation of duct work. I am wondering how efficient it is and how expensive it is. I would be cooling an area that is about 1000 square feet–basically a living room, kitchen and 3 bedrooms. Also, how energy efficient are those old radiators. I have heard that they are very good at keeping the house warm–but are they expensive, can you put timers on them like you do with forced air heat, are they energy hogs?

When it comes to choosing a good portable air conditioning unit you can be sure that you will come across a number of options with each option having its own complement of advantages and disadvantages. One such portable air conditioning unitthat requires a closer look, the Haier HPE07XC6 is a good option and one that boasts of providing seven thousand BTU that is sufficient to cool a small room and this product also offers you a very inexpensive cooling solution, and is especially useful for cooling rooms that are not more than one hundred and fifty square feet in size.

Portable Air Conditioning Unit From Royal Sovereign

Its closest competitor, the Royal Sovereign ARP1000ES is another good portable air conditioning unit that is popular and though it might not quite match the cooling abilities of permanently installed air conditioners it can still do a good job of making the room temperature more bearable. It is also a portable air conditioning unit that works quietly which cannot be assumed about the Haier products. And, at ten thousand BTU it is certainly good enough to cool areas of up to two hundred square feet or fifty square feet more than the Haier HPE07XC6.

Yet another option for anyone looking for a good portable air conditioning unit, the Amcor ALW12000E is very inexpensive and it also boasts of twelve thousand BTU which is sufficient to cool areas larger than what both the Haier and Royal Sovereign are capable of cooling. However, it is noisy and it does not come with a removable water collection cup and so emptying out the cup can prove to be awkward. On the plus side, it does boast of digital controls and a remote control and it can dehumidify an area and it can also function as a fan as well.

If you need a portable air conditioning unit for a larger roomthen the Sharp CV-P12LX is an ideal solution as it provides sufficient cooling and does so in the quietest manner possible. For a list price of approximately six hundred and fifty dollars it is quite a decent purchase and is readily available at stores such as QualityMatters.com and Supreme Outlet.

It is not always necessary to buy your portable air conditioning unit because with many portable air conditioning rental firms ready to hire out these products you can save your money and simply go out and find a rental company that is willing to rent out a unit for your immediate needs. You can hire a portable air conditioning unit for short durations and also for the long term – extending to months and even years. This is an option that of course suits those people that are holding a social event and who simply need cool environment for a day or so.

Adding Central Air Conditioning To A House With Baseboard Heating?

I was interested in adding a central air condition system to my house. We have no existing ductwork because we have basboard heat. How would the system be added and is there a ballpark estimate for the work? I live in a split level built in 1960 with about 1560 square feet. Any help is appreciated.
